Visitors to our school usually comment on the warm, relaxed, friendly atmosphere, because it is a home away from home. We are happy that you have taken an interest and the opportunity to get to know us.

Dr. Maria Montessori developed her way of teaching back in the early 1920 s while working with children in Rome. Her teaching methods are based on approaching a task in a manner that appeals to the child so that, the child is not conscious of the fact they are learning. Each task is done in an orderly fashion. The exercises develop concentration and at some time independence.

We at Allison's Kid 'n' Play Montessori use both traditional methods and the Montessori method. The teachers are blessed with patience and that is the home away from home feeling that visitors get.
Our children are excited about attending school, because we make learning so much fun. They are drawn to learning by unique teaching, interesting and fun projects. From 2 year olds 5 year olds, our children love school. Each child is his own person. The teachers observe each child carefully, following their lead by giving them the materials needed to develop their strengths and individuality.

Our school has been in existence since 1994. The teachers are hand picked and go through a three (3) month training period before actually having the responsibility of teaching a class. They observe first. Individual Attention is given to each child, hence the manageable classes of six (6) children to one (1) teacher.

Allison's Kid 'n' Play Montessori's Principal is Jasmine A. Cole(Miss) also known as Aunty Jasmine, I am also an active teacher. I was trained at The London Montessori Centre which at the time was situated on Shine Street, in Woodbrook.
The education, safety and health of our students are foremost in our minds. You, the parent/guardian must thoroughly inspect your child's hair for vermin (lice) and the body, for any skin diseases, such as scabies, measles, chicken pox or ring worm just naming a few. If found, the child must be kept at home until completely cured and the skin is cleared. THESE DISEASES ARE CONTAGIOUS.

Our curriculum includes Practical Life Exercises(taking care of oneself), Environmental Studies(learning your surroundings), Sensorial Exercises(senses), Basic Language-reading and writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish and Gardening, Environmental Studies, Show & Tell..PLAY ! PLAY! Just pure fun while learning

Extra Activities: Taebo. Aerobics. Splash Time. Drama. Nature Walks. Field Trips($30.00) per trip, per child. Lawn Tennis($100.00) per month. Football. Basketball, Karate($160.00) per month. Library Corner. Story Time. Arts and Crafts.

SCHOOL UNIFORM
FOOTWEAR MUST BE COMPLETELY WHITE.
Pants are sold at the school only..$250.00 per set of five.Duplicates are not accepted
Girls Tops: White shirts..Boys tops: White round-neck t-shirts
Physical Education - Thursday, Red round neck T-shirts, which the parents must purchase themselves

SUMMER VACATION
Summer Session(at an extra cost) is available for the month of July. Students of the school are given first preference. We also recommend this session for new students who will be starting in September(the new school term).

MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES.
Late pick ups incur extra fees. These fees are paid on pick up.
